The diagnosis of cancer can be devastating.  Traveling long distances to receive needed care may prove impossible.  With our approach to cancer care, we can assure patients in the Southeast that they will receive the very best in care, without having to leave the region.

This website has been designed for our patients.  It is our goal to provide you with a resource that will make each visit to our office a little easier, and to assist you with important information about the problem for which you are seeking help.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

We suggest when using the web for information, using the most reputable sites.  Cancer information is always changing; the links we have chosen on this site are well known sites that give the most up to date correct information available.

Although it is difficult to imagine someone taking advantage of cancer patients, it does happen.  Be very cautious of any site stating they have cured a specific form of cancer in some patients, and "to receive this treatment please send $XX.00 to… " Please note any experimental treatment is traditionally provided for free.

Any experimental treatment is typically done on a specific "protocol" or "trial" (see our Research section).  Most often these trials are set up comparing what is currently known to be the best treatment available for any given condition or the current standard of care to the experimental treatment.  These trials are traditionally done by National Cooperative Groups sponsored through the National Cancer Institute (NCI) or by Pharmaceutical Companies.  The Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) is one such cooperative group.
