Cancers
Below are links to National Cancer Institute web pages full of information regarding specific cancers...
Important Note:
We suggest when using the web for information, using the most reputable sites. Cancer information is always changing; the links we have chosen on this site are well known sites that give the most up to date correct information available.
Although it is difficult to imagine someone taking advantage of cancer patients, it does happen. Be very cautious of any site stating they have cured a specific form of cancer in some patients, and to receive this treatment please send $XX.00 to… Please note any experimental treatment is traditionally provided for free.
Any experimental treatment is typically done on a specific protocol or trial (see "protocols" section). Most often these trials are set up comparing what is currently known to be the best treatment available for any given condition or the current standard of care to the experimental treatment. These trials are traditionally done by National Cooperative Groups sponsored through the National Cancer Institute (NCI) or by Pharmaceutical Companies. The Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) is one such cooperative group.
