We will begin offering new cancer "protocols" beginning in 2008.

Protocols

Experimental treatment is typically done in the form of a specific protocol or trial.View of lab technician doing cancer research.

Most often these trials are set up comparing what is currently known to be the best treatment available for any given condition, or the current standard of care, to the experimental treatment.  Please note, any experimental treatment is traditionally provided for free of charge.

CPIWO will begin offering trial protocols beginning in 2008... Check back here for more information on which protocols we will offer our patients,

These trial are traditionally done by National Cooperative Groups sponsored through the National Cancer Institute (NCI) or by Pharmaceutical Companies.  The Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) is one such cooperative group.
