Dr. Stephen DePasquale

Dr. DePasquale is originally from upstate NY, he moved to the Tennessee region for the warmer weather and the great outdoors.  Dr. DePasquale did his undergraduate work at Albany College of Pharmacy.  He received his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree in 1988.  He graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1993.  He completed four years of residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia in 1997. 

 

From 1997 to 2001 he was a fellow in Gynecologic Oncology at Brown Medical School, Women and Infants Hospital in Providence Rhode Island. After completing fellowship he moved to Chattanooga Tennessee.  Currently he is Board certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology.  

 

He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.  He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Tennessee, in the Division of Gynecologic Oncology in Chattanooga at Erlanger Medical Center.  He is the Director of Robotic Surgery at Parkridge Medical Center.  He is employed by Intuitive Surgical, to teach robotic surgery in other medical centers throughout the United States.

 

He specializes in Gynecologic Oncology; starting in 2003 he has helped explore the utility of robotic surgery.  The daVinci laparoscopic Robotic Instrument was approved by the FDA in 2000.  Dr. DePasquale was one of the first Gynecologic Oncologist in the Region to utilize this new tool.  Today Dr. DePasquale performs many complex procedures with the laparoscopic robotic instrument including surgery for endometrial, cervical and ovarian cancer, making him one of a select few now offering this to patients on a regular basis.
